5.0
Very experienced competitors, top club-level players, former high-level competitors and juniors.
4.0
Very experienced club-level competitors.
3.0
Experienced club-level and league competitors.
1.0 - 2.0
Entry-level competition. For inexperienced players who have limited official match play history. Events are often round- robin format, with a strong focus on participation.

  1. Any player winning an Alberta sanctioned event in 3.0,4.0,5.0 singles or doubles during the calendar year, or who finishes the year in the top five men’s and top three women’s shall not be eligible to enter any event in that category for a period of twelve months commencing January 1 of the following year.
  2. Players winning a 3.0,4.0,5.0 event in singles or doubles can continue to compete in the event for the balance of the year; this rule permits all competitors to receive a year-end ranking. Players winning a 3.0,4.0,5.0 doubles event only are still eligible to compete at the level the following year
  3. TENNIS ALBERTA will review all registrations/applications received for all sanctioned play tennis events. Should it be deemed that a participant (based on ranking/ability in another division) should be moved from the category entered, TENNIS ALBERTA will make the adjustment in conjunction with the tournament director.
