VOLUNTEERING
As a non-profit organization Tennis Alberta relies heavily on volunteers who believe in the promotion of the sport, and are willing to share their time, expertise, and love of the game. The Executive Director and Technical Director manage the day-to-day operations of the office, however the executive board is comprised of volunteers. In addition Tennis Alberta provides many opportunities for volunteering and making a difference in the community! How can you help?
1. Volunteer to sit on a Committee
We need people to help restructure and move the association in the right direction. Share your experience and expertise off the court by securing a spot on a committee. Discover how your voice can make a difference!
2. Assist at a Local Tournament
Contact your local tennis club and offer your assistance to help at an upcoming tournament. You may be surprised to learn that your valuable skills haven't been tapped!
3. Assist your Zone Director
Call your Tennis Alberta board member and offer to assist with a project in your zone. Taking a hands-on approach in your community can only make it better!
4. Take a Coach or Officiating Course
Formalize your tennis training and skills and enroll in a coaching or officiating course. The sport is always in need of qualified staff, and you would look cool in an official’s uniform!
5. Network for Donations and Sponsorships
Use your networking skills to secure donations and sponsorship of prizes. Perhaps the company you work for would like to lend their name for the promotion of a local event. Impress the boss with your involvement in charitable endeavors!
6. Share your Love of Tennis - Discover
New Players
Gather a group of friends together and participate in a local tournament together. Introduce some non-players to the sport in a social setting. Your promotion of the sport may produce your next doubles partner!
