INSIDE TENNIS ALBERTA
The Alberta Tennis Association, also known
as Tennis Alberta, is a not-for-profit provincial sport governing body
for tennis in the province. The association promotes two main mandates, which include: encouraging participation in tennis and providing competitive opportunities for players of all levels.
The association sanctions approximately 70 tournament events throughout the year,
ranging from introductory to national and international competitions.
The organization also hosts the Alberta Open provincial championship, a
high level provincial contest, and the oldest organized provincial sporting event in Alberta.
In conjunction with the national sport governing body Tennis Canada, the Alberta Tennis Association campaigns to grow the game of tennis through promotional exposure and participation initiatives. Tennis events are organized to provide
an introduction to the sport, along with organized beginner and skill
development clinics.
In addition to providing the community with a
variety of tennis programs, Tennis Alberta offers membership services for
tennis players and enthusiasts.
The organization utilizes the Internet to
get its message across, and offers great membership benefits that attract
individuals from all over the world.
