CASINO VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
Tennis Alberta is currently recruiting volunteers to work at a casino event scheduled for Sunday July 26th and Monday July 27th, 2009 at the Baccarat Casino in Edmonton. This event represents the main fundraising activity for Tennis Alberta over the next eighteen months.

ROGERS ROOKIE TOUR
In its inaugural year, Tennis Alberta is joining a national program designed to bridge the gap between entry-level tennis and the provincial competitive junior circuit. Rookie Tour events have been met with a great deal of success in many provinces, including Ontario, British Columbia, and the Prairie and Atlantic regions, and it is this success that has led to the development of a national program based on the Rookie Tour concept. The Rogers Rookie Tour has the potential to reach thousands of juniors each year at tennis clubs and tennis centres throughout the country, and can encourage these players to continue through the tennis pathway to become regular competitors and/or lifelong tennis enthusiasts.
*This tour is for beginner tennis players with little to no competitive experience.

GROOVY GIRLZ TENNIS CAMPS!
This summer Tennis Alberta will be implementing an exciting new program called Groovy Girlz Tennis Camps for girls under the age of 12.
Camps are free of charge and include a 2 hour introductory tennis lesson.All participants will receive a t-shirt and are taught hand-eye and racquet coordination skills, teamwork and fair play, while learning the basics of rallying, volleying, and serving certified female staff.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY - PLAY TENNIS TOURNAMENTS
The Tennis Alberta Board of Directors approved the following recommendations put forward by a Tennis Alberta Tournament Task Force regarding junior eligibility in Play Tennis (2/3/4/5.0) Tournaments as well as some guidelines for all play tennis participants. Tennis Alberta will work with the host clubs to clarify the eligibility pertaining to their specific event and post the information in the tournament notes for each tournament.

NEW INSTRUCTOR COURSES SCHEDULED!
Tennis Alberta will be holding an Instructor Certification Course as well as a Club Pro 1 Course in the fall.
Instructor Course - September 11-13 and October 16-18
Club Pro 1 - October 18, October 30-November 1, November 20-22 and December 11-13
