PLAY WITH THE DAVIS CUP TEAM AND SUPPORT JUNIOR TENNIS DEVELOPMENT IN ALBERTA
Canada’s most recognized tennis player, Daniel Nestor, headlines the group of players coming to The Glencoe Club in Calgary on December 3rd to participate in Pro-Am fundraiser in conjunction with the Tennis Canada Hall of Fame Dinner recognizing Harold Milavsky later that evening. The Pro-Am is a fundraiser for Tennis Alberta, with all proceeds going towards the development of junior tennis in Alberta.
Nestor will be joined by Peter Polansky, Phil Bester, Dean Cobourn, and Martin Laurendeau, for great representation from Canada’s Davis Cup team.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE JUNIOR TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
In response to substantial participation increases in the junior U12, U14, U16, and U18 age categories, Tennis Alberta is working to refine and improve the competitive playing experiences for junior players in the province. The competitive structure for the 2009-’10 seasons will therefore be revised to provide more and better opportunities for tournament play.

For 2010 and 2011, Tennis Alberta is pleased to participate in the International Sport Exchange Program with Gangwon, Korea.This long-standing sport and friendship exchange allows young athletes an excellent opportunity to socialize in the spirit of friendship while experiencing the unique aspects of international competition.

JUNIOR HIGH PERFORMANCE - SELECTION CAMPS
National Training Centre Program (NTC)/Provincial NTC :
Tennis Alberta wrapped up a successful weekend, hosting two selection camps in Edmonton and Calgary. Over 135 athletes attended the camps, participating in a battery of Tennis Canada fitness tests and tennis evaluations for those at the U12 level and younger.
